New software to ease company registration
The commission, which regulates the formation and management of local companies, said the software, which is still undergoing tests, would be formally launched across the country by July this year.
CAC Registrar-General, Mallam Bello Mahmud, said the new software would particularly benefit small and medium-scale entrepreneurs who might not be able to afford the services of accredited agents.
He said that with the new software registration of companies could now be processed directly by the owners.
Mahmud also noted that the software would enable people to conduct an online search of any company registered with the commission.
“It is expected that the policy will also encourage informal businesses to register, and in the long run, deepen access to finance for those classes of businesses,” he said.
Mahmud also commended the developer of the software GEMS3 for its continuous support and assistance in the area of enlightenment and technical support it had been providing to the CAC in the design, development and testing of the new registration software.
