Egypt hearing in Al Jazeera case lasts minutes

Cairo - A defence lawyer says the appeal hearing for three Al-Jazeera English journalists imprisoned in Egypt is over,
lasting only minutes.
Negad Al-Borai told journalists outside Egypt's Court of Cassation that the brief hearing on Thursday allowed lawyers to present their case. Al-Borai says he hopes for a "happy end" to the case.
It initially appeared that Canadian-Egyptian Mohammed Fahmy, Australian journalist Peter Greste and Egyptian Baher Mohammed did not attend the hearing.
The journalists were arrested December 2013.
Fahmy and Greste were sentenced to seven years in prison, while Mohammed got 10 years — three more because he was found with a spent bullet casing. Rights groups dismissed the trial as a sham and foreign countries, including the US, expressed their concern over the journalists' detention.
