Nigerian celebrities introduce the ‘Strengthie’ on social media

(Shutterstock) Lagos - Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde , Waje  and Yemi Alade have now gone on social media to push Poverty Is Sexist’ campaign,
 using what they call a’strengthie’.
‘Strengthie’ features people across the globe taking selfies of themselves while flexing their arms in a notion to portray their strength and show solidarity for girls and women.
The symbol is now being used to promote the song, ‘Strong Girl’ featuring Waje, Yemi Alade, Victoria Kamani, Judith Sephuma, Vanessa Mdee, Selmor Mtukudzi, Gabriea andArielle T worldwide.
International activisits such as Arianna Huffington, Mary J. Blige, Malala Yousafzai, producer/director Shonda Rhimes and actress Danai Gurira have began posting strengthies to their social media accounts in support of the campaign.
